About the Center

Established at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, in the year 2005, the Kuwait-MIT Center for Natural Resources and the Environment (CNRE) brings together faculty, students, and scientists to improve scientific and technical understanding of issues of natural resources, the environment, and related challenges.

The mission of the Center is to foster collaborations in research and education in the areas of Energy, Water and the Environment between MIT and institutions in Kuwait. CNRE sponsors a number of programs including grants to support collaborative research, and visitor exchange programs for Visiting Students, Visiting Scientists, and Postdoctoral Fellows.

The Center is funded by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).
